In his role as President of Active AgriScience, Ranil establishes company goals and the overall strategic direction of the company, oversees management and ensures that departments meet individual goals.
Because of his expertise, Ranil closely directs the activities of R&D. He develops new and innovative fertilizer and plant growth enhancing technologies for the Canadian and international markets. His current activities focus on formulation chemistry designed to maximize plant vigor and yield. Ranil has more than 18 years of experience in crop nutrition, plant growth regulators (PGRs), polyamines and other agrochemicals, and has worked as Director of Research and Development for three leading fertilizer manufacturers in Canada.
Ranil holds a PhD. in Toxicology from Simon Fraser University (SFU), a MSc. in Plant Sciences from the University of British Columbia (UBC), and a BSc in Agriculture from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka.
Stephen is the General Manager for Active AgriScience. In this role, he oversees Operations, Finance, Quality Control and Quality Assurance, Administration (including legal and logistics) and Corporate Growth. Previously, Stephen was Vice President of Technical Development for La Belle, Inc, and Vice President North America, Neova Technologies Inc. In these roles, he was responsible for international sales, business development, production, quality assurance, human resources, and research and development.
Jonathan Choboter, CPA, CGA
Jonathan is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) with a 15-year background in public practice accounting and the construction industry. His experience includes corporate tax, Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) credits, and the development of costing and inventory systems.
QA / REGULATORY MANAGER
Ruth has 13 years’ experience in the fertilizer and packaged goods industry. Her experience includes: Canadian / US fertilizer, pesticide and organic registrations, ISO quality systems, SDS and compliant label creation, trademark portfolio management and reporting under various regulatory programs. At Active AgriScience, she administers the company Quality Assurance Program and manages the company’s various registrations.
As the production manager, Barna is responsible for the efficient and timely production of our products. Working from a production schedule and product recipe, he oversees the production process from raw material procurement to final packaging. He supervises production staff while ensuring that the production process follows Active AgriScience’s quality assurance program.
Curtis is the Operations Manager for Active AgriScience. Previously he worked at Neova Technologies as a Process Operator, Production Supervisor, and Maintenance Manager. His skills include equipment trouble-shooting, managing the company preventative maintenance team, overseeing maintenance budgets, scheduling, product improvement and quality assurance.
MANAGER – MICROBIAL LABORATORY
In his role as manager of the microbial laboratory at Active AgriScience, Peter develops beneficial biofertilizers for commercial crops, and assists with R&D/product formulation. His recent background includes research work at the University of British Columbia (UBC), and BC Research Inc. Peter holds an honours MSc in Biology and Chemistry from Ternopil Pedagogical University, Ukraine and has completed graduate work in cell biology and genetic engineering at the Ukraine Academy of Sciences, Kiev, and Queen Mary and Westfield College, London, UK.
Roland Bou-Chedid PhD
Roland is the R&D Chemist for Active AgriScience. In his role, he manages all aspects of product formulation; from the development of innovative products for agricultural applications, the management of field trials for prototype products, to setting laboratory standards for quality control, product stability, and process improvement. Roland has 10 years management experience at BASF in R&D, sales and business development both in Germany and the United Arab Emirates. Roland holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Muenster, Germany.
